Product and Quality Standards for International Marketing on Rural and AgroTourism
1-3 October 2004 - Jaén (Spain)
This seminar is organised by EuroGites-European Federation of Farm and Village
Tourism as a follow-up to last year's 1st European Congress on Rural Tourism.
At this congress, the need for a clear and homogenous product image of Rural
/ Agro Tourism was defined as one of the key issues for a growing international
demand looking for this type of holiday. This Seminar will now join stakeholders
and decision makers from about 20 countries in Europe, in order to discuss practical
experiences in this topic and to agree on common definitions and standards.
Special reduces registration fees for provider organisations until 10-September.

Rumanian adaptation of an already told sheep story
In a very nice summer day, on a road in the Western Carpathians Mountains,
a tourist driving a car was blocked by a flock of sheep that was crossing the
road. The tourist was very angry because of the very slow movement of the sheep
and the shepherd tried to cool him down.
Than, suddenly the tourist asked the shepherd:
- If I will tell exactly the number of the sheep, would you give me one of them?
The shepherd said:
- O.K.!
Immediately, on the surprise of the shepherd, the tourist indicated the exact
number of sheep. So, the shepherd was forced to keep his promise and the tourist
took a member of the flock. Than the shepherd asked the tourist:
- If I will tell you exactly what is your profession, would you give back what
you have took from me?
The tourist agreed this proposal and the shepherd indicates that he is a policeman.
Surprised the tourist asked:
- How you discovered this?
Very calmly the shepherd answered:
- Because you have took my dog, Sir!
