Agritechnica exhibition latest figures: Over 2100 exhibitors, up 39 percent taking the total to 2100 - International exhibitors have grown by 65%
13 – 17 November - HANOVER
> Over 2,111 exhibitors from 36 countries will be providing a complete overview of modern agricultural machinery: http://www.agritechnica.com/wwagt07-en.0.html
> Due to higher producer prices in agriculture, the leeway of farmers regarding new investments has improved within the past three years. According to Hermann Merschroth, president of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association, the German agricultural machinery industry, which represents approximately 10 % of global agricultural machinery production, can once again record solid growth this year: http://www.agritechnica.com/vdma07-en.0.html
> Agritechnica 2007 is the world’s platform for innovation in agricultural machinery. This is clearly the case again this year, with many manufacturers presenting numerous novelties with a high degree of innovativeness. These include several trend-setting world innovations. These involve special-purpose, efficient and intelligent machines and processes.

SufalNet: regenerating former and abandoned landfills
14 November 2007 - BRUSSELS
On 14 November 2007 SufalNet and its partners from across Europe are organising their final conference in Brussels: a conference on regenerating former and abandoned landfills. We as lead-partner of SufalNet would like to invite you to participate and attend this conference. Moderator and chairman of the conference is Mr. Onno Hoes, councillor of the Province of Noord-Brabant and the conference will be hosted by the Committee of the Regions. Attending the conference, including lunch and reception, is free.
The primary purpose of the conference is to bring stakeholders, experts, policymakers and politicians together to make a big step forward towards a sustainable Europe by promoting regional policies on former and abandoned landfills. SufalNet can generate regional and local policies in line with many of the Commission's key regional development and environmental goals by implementing the Lisbon Agenda and the Gothenburg Strategy. It shows how EU-(Interreg) funded projects can bring in their benefits at the regional and local level as well.

The Italians are so creative!
For several years, a man was having an affair with an Italian woman.
One night, she confided in him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he paid her a large sum of money if she would go to Italy to secretly have the child. If she stayed in Italy to raise the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18.
She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby was born. To keep it discrete, he told her to simply mail him a post card, and write "Spaghetti" on the back. He would then arrange for the child support payments to begin.
One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife. "Honey," she said, "you received a very strange post-card today." "Oh, just give it to me and I'll explain it later," he said.
The wife obeyed and watched as her husband read the card, turned white, and fainted.
On the card was written: "Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti. Three with meatballs, two without. Send extra sauce."
