AgroTech Russia
10 - 14 October 2008 within the context of the “Golden Autumn” exhibition
Globalisation and the continually growing need for modern agricultural machinery
in Russia mean that an innovative specialist exhibition showcasing this sector
has to meet some tough demands. The largest platform for agricultural machinery
in Russia has taken up this challenge with an extended concept and in a new
guise: the agricultural machinery sector featured within the context of the
Golden Autumn exhibition at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre is now a separate
entity under the name of AgroTech Russia, making it one of the leading specialist
exhibitions of its kind in Russia. This move creates a specialist platform that
is geared more closely than before to the needs of the exhibitors, giving it
a more target-group-oriented approach. The range of products on show covers
the entire gamut of outdoor farming machinery as well as plant production technology.

Fair trade
For farmers, getting an honest price for their time, effort and investment
means they can put more money toward in next season’s yield. They can buy books,
send their children to school and pay for basic medical services. Technology
has helped the spread of fair trade by promoting the concept to consumers and
involving more small-scale producers.

What's in a name...!
Maureen, Paddy's pregnant sister, was in a terrible car accident and was
rushed to hospital where she went into a deep coma.
After being in the coma for almost six months, she regains consciousness. Her
first thoughts are for her unborn baby, but she finds that she is no longer
pregnant. Frantically, she enquires from the doctor about her baby.
The doctor reassures her: 'Maureen, while you were in the coma you had twins....
a boy and a girl. Both babies are fine. However, they were poorly at birth and
had to be christened immediately. So your brother Paddy came in and named them.
Maureen raises her eyes to heaven and thinks to herself, 'Oh suffering Jesus,
no... not me brother ... he's a clueless idiot...!
Expecting the worst, despairingly she asks the doctor: 'Tell me, what's me daughter's
name?'
'Denise,' says the doctor.
Maureen is greatly relieved, 'Well now, that's a beautiful name. I guess I was
wrong about me brother'....'I really like the name "Denise"'.
Then she asks: 'And what's me son's name?'
The doctor replies: 'Denephew.'
