Launch of the Rural-eGov Observatory for Rural Small & Medium Enterprises
The public version of the Rural-eGov Observatory is now on-line at: http://egov.aua.gr:8080/observatory/.
In the Rural-eGov Observatory you can search and find resources related to e-government
in various European regions. We would like to invite you to try using the Rural-eGov
Observatory and then spend some minutes completing this short evaluation questionnaire:
http://infolab-dev.aua.gr/ruralegov/questionnaire/.
More specifically, in the Rural-eGov Observatory you can search, retrieve and
find information about the following:
(i) e-Government services from five European countries (i.e. UK, Germany, Greece,
Slovenia, and Poland) that can be useful for supporting business operations
of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in rural areas.
(ii) Training resources on how SMEs can use and take advantage of e-Government
services in their everyday business operations.
The Rural-eGov Observatory is currently operating in five languages (English,
German, Greek, Slovenian and Polish). It has been developed in the context of
the Rural-eGov pilot project that is funded by the European Commision's Leonardo
da Vinci (LdV) programme.

However, I think also that you have crossed the yellow line with this bad-taste
joke about the priest, the cock and the goat
I may have missed this important information, please include this one in
an upcoming newsletter.

The priest, the cock and the goat? (on the efita web site)

joke about the priest, the cock and the goat (2)
I had wondered if religious sensibilities would be offended with that story
about the priest, but I thought it was funny, and certainly it was on a humour
par with previous submissions from our friend Mick in Ireland. Appended are
three more "stories" with elements to offend just about everybody
... who is inclined to be offended. Anyway, I thought they were funny.

On the contrary - My (English speaking) para-efita circle (i.e. group that
I sent quotations from efita) found the joke superb!

Don't worry about it Guy! I thought the joke was great.
Good on you for publishing the criticism.

Jokes are jokes, usually somebody will not completely agree with the subject.
Please, do not hesitate to publish them. Fortunately and hopefully we belong
to a not narrow mind community.
The newsletter reaches people around the world, keeping us up to date with IT
in Agriculture.
Jokes are a very attractive part of the newsletter. They stimulate colleagues,
students and me, to read and discuss about IT in Agriculture and, of course,
about the jokes. Please, keep going.
PS: I did not understand the "bad-taste joke". Was the bad taste related
with goat or cock meat? :-)

Proud To Be A Paddy!
A recent study found the average Paddy walks about 900 miles per year.
Another study found that we drink, on average, 22 gallons of beer a year.
That means we're averaging about 41 miles to the gallon.
Kind of makes you proud to be Irish...!
