How
about some German humour for a change? Little Hans…
Manfred and his wife Veronika give birth to their only son Hans.. Their
joy turns to concern as time passes and little Hans does not utter a single
word. Doctors and medical gurus are consulted but to no avail.
Manfred and Veronika despair.
On his fourth birthday Veronoka cooks Hans's favourite meal - dumplings.
Hans tastes the dumplings, frowns and speaks:
"Mother, these dumplings are overcooked!"
Veronika is stunned ... delirious with joy... calls Manfred and relates
what has happened.
Manfred is confounded: "Son" he says, "Why did you not
say something over the last four years until just now?"
Hans replies: "Until just now everything has been satisfactory."
