CAPIGI joins forces with Geospatial World Forum
24-26 May 2016 - ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands
The 6 th edition of CAPIGI will collaborate with the Geospatial World
Forum (GWF) to jointly present and discuss the latest trends, innovations
and issues in the application of spatial data in agriculture. The joint
CAPIGI-GeoAgri conference will focus on The Next Level in Spatial Data,
Smart Farming and New Business. It provides the 150 participants the opportunity
to be part of the whole GWF, while still maintaining its particular focus
on agriculture. CAPIGI will organize a three day track with the GWF, dedicated
to agriculture on 24-26 May 2016 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
>>> CAPIGI
The Community on Agricultural Policy Implementation and Geo-Information
(CAPIGI) is the perfect place for geo-information experts active in agriculture
to meet their colleagues within this field; from government to industry
to research. The diversity of participants allows CAPIGI to be unique
among other conferences. Due to the variety of knowledge that comes together,
new innovations, ideas and solutions for the agricultural sector are being
created, which benefits all those involved. During the CAPIGI conference,
emerging technologies get illustrated with practice experiences in agricultural
policy implementation. Workshops, plenary sessions, keynote speakers,
an exhibition and more support this concept.
>>> GeoAgri
The GeoAgri programme has been a part of the Geospatial World Forum for
many years. It discusses the value of geospatial technology in enhanced
decision making, effectively managing resources and assets, enhancing
the efficiency of workflows, and improving the accessibility of information.
It focuses on the use of geo-spatial data for improved and sustainable
agriculture. The GeoAgri session in 2015 brought forward the latest innovations,
technologies and tools within agriculture and tried bringing a new wave
of farming.
Now, in collaboration with CAPIGI, forces are joined to strengthen both
conferences and to add more value to the entire farming community, solution
& technology providers, Researchers, Policy & advocacy levels
and all other participants. With this mind set, the collaboration was
brought to life. Participants gain access to a larger geospatial exhibition
and great plenary conference sessions. This allows visitors to deepen
their knowledge, connect to colleagues and broaden their professional
network even more.
>>> The Next Level
Over many years of scientific advances and demonstrations, it now becomes
evident that the use of spatial data has reached a next level. It becomes
more and more user driven and less technology driven. This means businesses
are using geospatial technologies and data to bring added value to farmers,
traders, advisors, machine manufacturers, policy makers, control officers
and other stakeholders. CAPIGI gives insight in how this next level affects
the agricultural sector and its stakeholders.

This Looks Like A Normal Grocery Store, But When The Lights Go Out? Awesome.
It took a team of cashiers, 13 different hidden cameras and a whole lot
Christmas spirit to pull off this epic holiday surprise!
Edeka, Germany’s largest supermarket chain, decided to surprise its shoppers
with a seasonal treat. In an attempt to liven up the otherwise boring
chore of grocery shopping,
These cashiers opted to delight their patient shoppers with a choreographed
orchestra that beeped the holiday classic, “Jingle Bells.”

'How
much do you charge?'
'Eighty dollars per visit,' replied the doctor.
'I'll sleep on it,' I said.
Six months later the doctor met me on the street. 'Why didn't you come
to see me about those fears you were having?' he asked.
'Well, Eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful
lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10. I was so happy to have saved
all that money that I went and bought me a new pickup!'
'Is that so!' With a bit of an attitude he said, 'and how, may I ask,
did a bartender cure you?'
'He told me to cut the legs off the bed! Ain't nobody under there now!'
