AgriFuture Days 2016: ICT’s for Technology Integration / Stakeholder
Cooperation / Education / Local Experience
22-24 June - VILLACH, Austria
The 3rd Annual Agrifuture Days Conference of 2016 will be as absorbing
and memorable event as its preceding Conferences. We look forward to
making Agrifuture Days 2016 another applied learning opportunity for
our partners, friends and colleagues attending the conference while
also sharing our beautiful landscape, a destination where you can unwind
and enjoy yourself before returning to work.
The AgriFuture Days are organized by the Club of Ossiach, a group of
agriculturists, agri-business managers, agriculture and forestry technologists,
environmentalists and agricultural ICT specialists from around the world.
They meet periodically to collectively discuss and collaboratively act
on influencing the use of information and communications technologies
(ICTs) to improve agricultural productivity, profitability and contribution
to food and nutritional security and safety globally.
The AgriFuture Days 2016 offer the possibility to showcase technologies,
products, innovations, services and methods for the farming- and forestry
community to applicable innovations. The conference shall be a great
place for exhibitors to meet key decision makers from practices, governments,
and organizations. Around 50 presentations and a large number of attendees
from all over the world are expected. Not all excepted Papers will get
a slot to present, but we will have also posters to be presented and
discussed within the participants. Further the three Workshops will
bring better cooperation and discussion for all participants.
>> Conference Theme: Smart cities need smart rural areas
With rapid urbanisation world-wide, development of rural areas lags
far behind that of smart cities. The conference will discuss how ICT
can contribute to the future of the Rural – Urban continuum with a focus
on agriculture, the core economic and social activity of rural areas,
especially in the context of smallholder farmers. The Conference will
also consider the framework which is necessary to integrate all Agri-food
chain partners from production to marketability of rural products, support
education and learning as also create inclusive, interdependent rural-urban
local communities.
>>Topics of Interest
It will look at key issues in 3 areas where applications and use ICTs
and related technologies make a difference:
1. Technologies and technology integration for the Smart urban-Rural
Continuum
2. Chain management and Stakeholder´s integration
3. Education. Learning and local experience integration
