Calculating the payback of telematics by Jodie Wehrspann
John Deere has developed a calculator that lets you determine that
payback. The new JDLink ROI estimator is designed to quantify the value
of keeping machines connected using JDLink. However, the same concepts
could be applied to any system.

Brexit (?)
Dear Guy,
Whilst agreeing with the comment by Professor Schueller about the value
of the EFITA Newsletter and, although I did not see the views to which
he refers regarding opposition to Brexit, I must say that I strongly object
to his remarks concerning the “stupid politics” regarding “the weakening
of the EU”. Professor Schueller concedes that he is an outsider which
may excuse his outrageous comment that these proposals are “as bad as
our current USA presidential campaign”?
What was set up as a Free Trade Area (Common Market), has become a political
union, with control of member states increasingly taken over by the European
Parliament, often against the will of the national population – I too
am old enough to remember pre-EU. To many across Europe the EU is a failing
project, already in decline; we have only to look at the disarray surrounding
the current migration crisis to realise that this is the case. This brief
response to the EFITA newsletter is not the place to set out even a small
part of the arguments for a UK exit from the EU, but the fact that Professor
Schueller compares these arguments with the stupidity of the USA presidential
campaign, suggest that he is rather ignorant of the issues and should
keep his ill-informed comments to himself.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Ken SMITH
(retired Soil Scientist – these views are my own, not those of my former
employer, ADAS UK)

My short answer (GW): Thank you for your kind message. You will for sure
vote as you wish but please note that, respecting your choice, my personal
feeling is that the Brexit means a kind of rejection of all that we have
built together for decades and even centuries, i.e. the European civilization
and spirit. Compared with nearly all regions of the world I had the chance
to visit, we benefit here from incredible opportunities and advantages.
Be sure that we remember that we owe to UK our liberty (and in my case,
as Jewish the survival of my parents… and my birth), that we are many
in Europe who will deeply miss the participation of UK in the EU institutions
and above all the participation of British people with your sense of humour,
your sensibility to individual rights, your traditions and openness to
new trends, your creativity.
Bad
neighborhood (Old American joke)
I love my mother, man, 'cause she wanted to keep me and my brothers off
the streets.
We grew up in a drug-infested neighborhood -- the United States.
