Thought for today (The Brexit is making me really sad. I love very much the UK but I love more the EU than UK! The problem seems to me that that most British leaders never really loved the EU - GW)
The glorious Brexit heroes of yesterday are the sad heroes of today. Those who have contributed to the situation in the UK have resigned – Johnson, Farage and others. They are as it were retro-nationalists, they are not patriots. Patriots don’t resign when things get difficult; they stay.
Jean-Claude JUNCKER, president of the European Commission at the European parliament in Strasbourg

US Ag Apps (a reminder)
> Ag Weed ID
Use the Ag Weed ID app to identify weeds in your fields. Users can narrow the search to month, location, crop and weed type, then browse a library of images. There is also information about each weed, including threat level, resistance profile, control timing and more.

> AgraScout
Using the AgraScout app, farmers can draw or import fields, then drop disease, insect, stressor or weed pins. Take pictures and write comments, then share with an agronomist.

> Aphid Speed Scout
This app from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln helps you quickly determine if your soybeans are infested with soybean aphids and offers recommendations for further scouting or treatment options based on "infestation" levels.

> Connected Farm Scout
Use your phone or tablet out in the field to map and scout crops for weeds, insects and diseases. You can also take photos and use the app with GreenSeeker's handheld monitor to check for nitrogen deficiencies.

> Crop Nutrient Deficiencies
This app from Ag PhD helps growers determine fertility issues in their fields. Search by nutrient type, or browse photos of crops to find an image that matches the issue in your field. There is also information about the nutrient, including what it does for the crop, the yield impact and symptoms of deficiency.

> Growing Degree Days
The Growing Degree Days app measures crop maturity by viewing growing degree day data for your farm. Users drop pins on a map to see the current data.

> IPM Toolkit
From the University of Wisconsin, the IPM Toolkit offers videos, publications, news and a photo library to help you in adapting integrated pest management practices on your farm.

> Tank Mix Calculator
Enter acreage, tank size and carrier volume. Then select chemicals from the existing list, or add your own. The Tank Mix Calculator will provide the number of loads required to spray, along with full and partial load mixes.

More than 100 Nobel Laureates issue statement in support of modern agriculture practices and open letter condemning certain NGOs and governments for thwarting life-saving progress
(Washington, DC) More than 100 Nobel Laureates from diverse disciplines are voicing their support for GMO precision agriculture and calling on leaders of Greenpeace, the United Nations and governments around the world to join them. The Laureates -- winners in fields including Medicine, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Literature and Peace -- have all signed an open letter asking Greenpeace and others who have been blocking progress and access to beneficial plant biotechnology products, like Golden Rice, to abandon their campaigns against GMOs.

The campaign was announced on Thursday June 30th at a Washington, DC press conference by representative signers Sir Richard Roberts (1993 Nobel Laureate for Physiology or Medicine), Professor Martin Chalfie (2008 Nobel Laureate for Chemistry) and Professor Randy Schekman (2013 Nobel Laureate for Physiology or Medicine). A website http://supportprecisionagriculture.org/ offers details on the Nobel Laureates’ statement, list of signers and background on the benefits and safety of GMOs.

At the Washington press conference, Laureate Sir Richard Roberts stated, “In our letter we call upon Greenpeace and like organizations to end their shameful campaign of propaganda and criminal destruction of crops improved by modern genetic technologies, such as GMOs.” Roberts, added, “We call on governments and world organizations to do everything in their power to oppose anti-GMO obstruction and to accelerate farmer access to the life-saving tools provided by modern biotechnology.”

The Laureates urged policy makers, the public and others to come together and add their names to the list of signers and asked how many poor people in the world must die before we consider this a "crime against humanity."

Jewish joke: Jewish Parents

Sheld’n visited mama and papa. He said: “Finally, I’ve found my bashert. Just for fun, I'm going to bring over three women and you guess which is “the one.” Mama and Papa agreed.

The next day he brought three beautiful women who sat on the sofa and chatted with Mama and Papa over a little cake. After they left, he challenged, "Okay, Guess which one I'm going to marry?"

“The one in the middle with the red hair,” his parents replied instantly.

"Right! But ... how did you know?" asked Sheld’n, amazed.

Mama said, "Simple. Her, we don't like."
