8th European Conference on Precision Livestock Farming (EC-PLF)
12-14 September 2017 - NANTES
The European Conference on Precision Livestock Farming takes place every
two years. The aim of this Conference is to exchange knowledge and experience
through an open discussion and to support progress in this field.
Today Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) technology is a reality. It has
the potential to support and benefit animal feed suppliers, human-food
retailers and other players along the livestock supply chain. This 'cross-disciplinary'
approach is that 'animal-focused' scientists, engineers, companies as
well as farmers' organizations have interacted and combined their strengths
and views.
Nowadays in modern livestock farming, the need for reliable automated
systems is compelling for reasons, such as biosecurity, the environment,
husbandry practices, feeding practices, and their direct links to animal
health.

ICT-AGRI 2 questionnaire
End of October 2017
As you may know, ICT-AGRI 2 is currently writing a SRIA (strategic research
and innovation agenda). The aim of this SRIA is to define the current
and future challenges that the Information and Communication Technologies
will encounter in the EU agriculture and food systems. The aim of this
document is to help the European Commission defining its research and
project funding priorities.
To improve this document, we created a questionnaire to collect the opinion
of all stakeholders (farmer, traders, consumers, etc.) regarding these
challenges and their priorities. To help us in this task, could you please
participate in this questionnaire, as well as sending the link to all
interested persons. Deadline is for the end of October 2017. To fill in
this questionnaire of 15 questions takes less than 5 minutes.
