Farmers Business
Network
FBN is an independent farmer-to-farmer agronomic network. By connecting
farmers and their agronomic data, FBN can provide farmers more information
than a single farmer could ever access on their own. FBN provides comprehensive
and unbiased performance benchmarking, insights on real world input and
practice performance, mapping and weather data -- all custom tailored
to your fields. FBN’s tools and services help farmers make better management
decisions to increase efficiency and profitability.
We democratize farm data, putting the power of information back in farmers
hands.

3 ways to create value with information
All the talk about data doesn’t get away from the work of collecting
information. But once you have that information, you can put it to work.

Data management for 2016
As more farmers turn to cloud-based systems to manage their data,
there are a few issues to keep in mind...

So, what has the

Look at everything we have achieved collaboratively... UK Scientists
for EU
Here's the issue. Whilst in the UK and many other countries our national
politics are adversarial (look at the shouting and booing in the House
of Commons), on the EU level, we have a different kind of politics - collaborative.
It's a politics of getting MEPs from 28 different countries to just do
s***. That's 28 countries doing constructive long-term s*** together!
It has worked on so, so many fronts.
Now look again at our national politicians trying to tear this down with
their aggressive slogans. It's all battling, dismissive comments ("tosh!")
and looking to manipulate the public. Selfish cries of how much better
we'll do alone because we're so much better than all those other countries.
Let's imagine for a moment that we, in the UK, are somehow "better".
Then surely we should be the ones wanting to lead the neighbourhood team
and fix things up. Look at that list again. Calm collaboration works.
No slagging off necessary. Politics should be about the input from all
parties and then compromise. The reliable march forward, serving us all.
If the current debate is making your head spin, getting your heart angry
and making your gut sick... then that's precisely why we'd be screwed
in a Brexit. We can't have our future left only to cut-throat national
politicians who only know politics as manipulative messaging and battling
between parties.
Look at that list again. Look at what can be achieved when we all chip
in 1% GDP, get our governments round a council and elect (via proportional
representation) individuals who can represent our interests calmly and
collaboratively in a forum of 28 countries. That's the real deal right
there.

Why Apple Is Right to Challenge an Order to Help the F.B.I. (??? –
GW)
It is understandable that federal investigators want to unlock an
iPhone used by one of the attackers who killed 14 people in San Bernardino,
Calif., in December. And it’s understandable that the government would
turn to Apple for help. But Apple is doing the right thing in challenging
the federal court ruling requiring that it comply.

Wonderful English
On a train from London to Manchester an Australian was berating the Englishman
sitting across from him in the compartment.
"You English are too stuffy. You set yourselves apart too much. You
think your stiff upper lip makes you above the rest of us. Look at me...
I'm ME!I have Italian blood, Greek blood, a little Irish blood, and some
Aborigine blood. What do you say to that?"
The Englishman replied, "Awfully sporting of your mother, old chap!"
