La plataforma digital Mlouma facilita la compraventa 'online' de hortalizas en siete regiones del país y contribuye a poner fin a las pérdidas poscosecha.

En las zonas sin litoral, donde el acceso a Internet es un verdadero dolor de cabeza para la población, Mlouma funciona gracias al sistema USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data), que permite el acceso al mercado virtual desde teléfonos móviles sencillos gracias a un acuerdo con Sonatel (Orange), incluso sin conexión a la red.
Con el servicio USSD, los productores pueden cargar a la plataforma información sobre sus productos, mientras que los compradores tienen acceso a detalles sobre su disponibilidad y precio. Una vez recopilada, esta información es procesada y validada antes de ser publicada en el sitio web de Mlouma. "El agricultor solo tiene que marcar el número 112 en su teléfono móvil", explica el emprendedor Aboubacar Sidi Sonko, "luego sigue las instrucciones y paga una cuota de suscripción de unos 300 francos CFA (menos de 50 céntimos de euro) para buscar o publicar un producto". A finales de 2015 había unos 500 usuarios conectados a la plataforma, pero desde la incorporación del sistema USSD, Mlouma cuenta ahora con más de 100.000 usuarios.

2025: End hunger and malnutrition (CGIAR)
